Gluck’s torrid personal life shocked her family, though the money she received from them allowed her to live in style. In the 1920s and ’30s Gluck’s work, set in frames she designed and patented, were coveted by the rich and famous.
There’s a lot planned for Gluck in 2017: an exhibition about her at the Brighton Museum in the autumn and an accompanying book (including a contribution from Diana Souhami); a retrospective of her work at The Fine Art Society: and inclusion of her work in an exhibition on Sussex modernism at Two Temple Place from January to April.
